This is one of the easiest methods of installing wordpress on Hostgator which hardly takes 5 minutes to complete. First of all login to your Hostgator Hosting Control Panel. Under the Software/Services section, click on Fantastico. The snapshot for the same is given below :
On clicking this, you will be redirected to the Fantastico Panel page , where you need to go to the top left side and click on “Wordpress” under the blogs category. You can see the snapshot to go through this step easily :
After this, you will be redirected to the New Installation page where you have to click on the “New Installation” link to install the latest version of WordPress.
Once you have clicked on the “New Installation” link, you need to select the domain on which you are going to install WordPress. Here you have the option to select the location where you want to install WordPress. You can select either the root directory or under a sub-domain.
If you select the root directory, then you need to select the domain itself and then you have to enter some details like admin username, admin password, admin email, site name, and site description.
After filling all these details, click on the button “Install WordPress” to start wordpress installation.
